WELCOME

Throughout the different human race civilizations stories of the DOOMSday soon to come have always persisted. Whether it will come from higher powers as punishment for our sins or from mother Nature still uncertain. But what it is true, is that must of those ancient civilizations have set our present as the time in which these events could take place. From the Egyptians to the must mentioned predictions of the Mayans, they not just proclaimed of an end of days, but instead they warn us of a new beginning. This blog has been created to share our thoughts on this topic. How to prepare for unforseen worldwide events or any inputs of interest that might find answers to our member's questions regarding our survival. Please feel free to share.

Weapons of choice.

This past weekend a couple friends and I went to a firing range to practice our shooting skills. Everything seems normal to the point that, we still missed the most on 200 yards using the A-R15 (our excuse? We normally go for the 100 yards target). Hand guns shooting was another story, 25 and 50 yards was a piece of cake for me using a 9mm Glock. We arrived at the Range camp around noon time, but just a while later people started to come in like invited to a Christmas party. Some said that during election times gun sales rise, preventing new regulations to the firearms industry under a new government. The fact is, that an increase in gun users is clearly seen, whatever the reason could be. Under Doomsday scenario having access to defence weapons is a must, not an option. Your weapon of choice should be, in my own opinion, one in which you have practiced and handle with accuracy. But this should not be limited to only a hand gun or a single kind. Most people I have asked about their favorite defence firearm have selected the shotgun, short barrel. Not much aiming and a powerful punch that even if you missed your target, it will sure get them running away. Been knowledgeable in different firearms, from handguns to rifles, and having a variety of them in stock, will allow you to protect your home, at first from a save long distance, where rifles come in, and if necessary, at a closer distance using handguns. The point is, to make sure no one with bad intentions get closer to you, your family, or your resources. People would be willing to kill to survive, and even when we oppose just the thought of it, we might have too, but the objective should be to scare away offenders.

I dissagree. I do not think the way to save humanity is by shooting each other. We should find other ways to communicate or there would be no humanity at all. That mentality is the one that have lead our societies into destroying one another.Even worst, because of that mentality a worldwide war fits the perfect scenario for a doomsday event.

At no point in my post I mention to go to extremes. I just pointed out that under a Doomsday event survival and preservation instints would and should turn on, and safeguarding your resources will become a "must". We should plan ahead into ways of farming and or gathering food and most needed resources in our own, but those that do not, might come out and threaten to take it away. Pushing them out will also become a "Must" for the safe-keeping of you and your family's future.

I think not all people think alike, especially those that will want asecinar you and your family for food or water, if today today and seen asecinar to person by a lien or 20 dollar or for fun, I would not imagine that such people for the resources to plow the easy way. So if I believe in having a gun or more to defend your home when used responsibly. thanks.

I don't wish to sound mean or arrogant however, you are missing the point. I don't own firearms to kill other people. I own firearms to protect my family. From feral beings, be they human or animal. What you are saying is that you don't want to protect yourself or your family, and are willing to allow them and yourself to be killed by others, because you feel everyone should just live together in peace. I'm sorry but your simplistic view is one of the reasons this planet is in the current problems it now has. You don't understand that there are people who just want to take. They don't want to put forth their best effort, they want to take it from you. If you truly wish to prepare you need to accept that those people exist, and to take whatever precautions you can. Otherwise you become a simple statistic on the evening news if we will still have an evening news.
