WELCOME

Throughout the different human race civilizations stories of the DOOMSday soon to come have always persisted. Whether it will come from higher powers as punishment for our sins or from mother Nature still uncertain. But what it is true, is that must of those ancient civilizations have set our present as the time in which these events could take place. From the Egyptians to the must mentioned predictions of the Mayans, they not just proclaimed of an end of days, but instead they warn us of a new beginning. This blog has been created to share our thoughts on this topic. How to prepare for unforseen worldwide events or any inputs of interest that might find answers to our member's questions regarding our survival. Please feel free to share.

WORLD Temperatures to reach new records by 2047

Study: Temperatures go off the charts around 2047
The Associated Press released this news today on new study regarding the World Temperatures about to skyrocket by 2049 - By SETH BORENSTEIN - AP Science Writer
WASHINGTON (AP) — Starting in about a decade, Kingston, Jamaica, will probably be off-the-charts hot — permanently. Other places will soon follow. Singapore in 2028. Mexico City in 2031. Cairo in 2036. Phoenix and Honolulu in 2043. And eventually the whole world in 2047.
the world as a whole had its hottest year on record in 2005. The new study, published Wednesday in The journal Nature, says that by the year 2047, every year that follows will probably be hotter than that record-setting scorcher.
The 2047 date for the whole world is based on continually increasing emissions of greenhouse gases from the burning of coal, oil and natural gases. If the world manages to reduce its emissions of carbon dioxide and other gases, that would be pushed to as late as 2069, according to Mora.
Mora forecasts that the unprecedented heat starts in 2020 with Manokwa, Indonesia. Then Kingston, Jamaica. Within the next two decades, 59 cities will be living in what is essentially a new climate, including Singapore, Havana, Kuala Lumpur and Mexico City.
The first U.S. cities to feel that would be Honolulu and Phoenix, followed by San Diego and Orlando, Fla., in 2046. New York and Washington will get new climates around 2047, with Los Angeles, Detroit, Houston, Chicago, Seattle, Austin and Dallas a bit later.
Mora calculated that the last of the 265 cities to move into their new climate will be Anchorage, Alaska — in 2071. There's a five-year margin of error on the estimates.
Pennsylvania State University climate scientist Michael Mann said the research "may actually be presenting an overly rosy scenario when it comes to how close we are to passing the threshold for dangerous climate impacts."
"By some measures, we are already there," he said.

Zombie Apocalypse. A Possible humanity doom?

It seems that due to an increasing amount of books and films, zombies are becoming another reason in the list of possible World disasters that could threat humanity. What is real, and what is not?
Well, scientists have said that there exist multiple sickness that could create a "Zombie being" nowadays. The conception of the modern zombie is the "zombie apocalypse"; the breakdown of society as a result of an initial zombie outbreak which spreads. These are basically brain parasites that affect the "rightful" or "proper" functional" of the human brain, causing the "host" (person infected) to react as in "not in control" of his/her own actions.
Whether this could be a real concern to our society or not, the sole idea of human flesh eating - humans is enough to send shills through our bones. Ad to that the thou on these creatures able to increase in numbers and infect the population at the expense of a single bite and the way films pose the rapid infestation threatening to overcome our way of living and the entire world.
Then again, in my personal opinion, and with the respect of those who consider this a "World ending" event, it is my humble opinion that Zombie apocalypse is not doomsday event to watch for. And if a must to be considered, then it would definitely go in the back of my list. Not just the threat of the unavoidable wars that our "leaders" seem to love so much to solve most of our World issues, the threat of economic collapse, and the inexcusable exploitation of our nature resources without an investment to replace them, these and others take the top part of my list.
If there is anyone out there, who could perhaps add to this topic with proven facts for the followers of our site and fellow preppers with helpful info leading us into considering a Zombie Apocalypse a real threat to our society, then please feel free to share.
Thanks

Oklahoma Tornado

Our condolences and best wishes go out to the victims and families that suffered the wrath of the tornadoes that hit Oklahoma, USA. Over thirteen thousand people had been impacted by the tornado's 200 plus mph winds leaving at least 24 dead, including 9 children among the victims. Watching the news and stories of survivors is overwhelming how big of a disaster this event was. In all of this commotion is rewarding to hear of families who were able to survive by going down into a bunker underneath their house, just to come out 44 minutes after and see their home destroyed down to bare foundation.
For all that have helped or still helping in the recovery of the Oklahoma region, THANK you. It is in times like this where the core of humanity is tested, and being there physically, or by sending whatever it is we can to help diminish the suffering of those families, that prove our will to survive our present and look forward to a better future.

“Be Rich in times of misery”

Having a grocery store in which to acquire provisions becomes a luxury, if it still available during a dooms day event. Here is when having something to trade with comes handy. It is difficult to predict what you will need or what you will run out of first in your supply list. Keeping items such as silver coins, alcohol beverage/Rum bottles, lead in small bricks or balls which can be used to make gun ammunition, become a commodity in a post apocalypse event.

These not commonly used items (including alcohol beverages like in my own case as no one in our household drinks more than a glass of wine occasionally) become a good trade currency to others who will be glad to exchange other goods for it. Take a look and research into “what” move other people in terms of them giving up whatever it is you could use during harsh times, such as food; medicine; etc.

*Alcohol; cigarettes; lead; silver; whatever you consider for the purpose of trading in need be, make sure it is something you won’t see yourself needing later for your own use. Packing up “only” what you “think” you and your family might need will put you in a position of having to trade some of it for else you didn’t expect to run out of, then finding yourself in need of that later. Whatever medicine; food; water and other supplies should be consider as first priority and not trade items, unless emergency requires for you to so. Having specific items for the specific use of trade will avoid the need to let go on first priority ones.
